Midland Fairies

midland fairies

The English Midlands (Derbyshire, Huntingondshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Staffordshire and Warwickshire) are an intermediate area between the southern lowlands the the hillier regions to the north and west. Not surprisingly then the fairy folk of the region are also a hybrid. There are references to ‘sweeter’ fairies, which are reminiscent of those found in the South East. But there are also more dangerous northern-style fairies: not least the boggarts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
